Overview
Goals of the site in terms of:
Mapping Resolution: 10 m for the field estimates
Timeliness (with regards to growing season): Growing season (April-October)
Operational implementation plans (if any): (Click here to enter text.)
What is the current project phase? Operational
1. Crop identification and acreage estimation: Annual
2. Residue and Tillage mapping: N/A
3. Soil moisture: Soil moisture has been measurement by TRIME Field Measurement Devices three times a month.
4. Crop biophysical variables: LAI, fAPAR. Indices (e.g. NDVI) are computed based on field measured hyperspectral reflectance data collected by using Field Spectro radiometer (ASD FieldSpec4 Hi-Res).
5. Other: The height and have been recorded. Also photos for each crops have been taken. All data have been stored in the prepared data base.

In Situ Observations
LAI
- Crop Type(s): Forest
- Collection Protocol:
LAI measurements on the ground (LAI(G)) have been made on the dates of satellite pass using the Plant Canopy Analyzer (Model: LAI – 2200C) of Licor Biosciences, USA. At each measurement location, one above canopy and four below canopy readings (repetition twice) have been recorded to compute a single LAI value. From each measurement location, three LAI value have been recorded. Above and below canopy measurements have been made with a ‘‘fisheye’’ optical sensor with 148º angle of view. An azimuth mask of 270º view cap has been used on LAI-2200C sensor during data collection to block the bright sky for eliminating the shadowing effect of instrument operator.
- Frequency: two / three times per month
Spectral Reflectance
- Crop Type(s): Forest
- Collection Protocol:
The hyperspectral spectroradiometer “FieldSpec4 Hi-Res” by ASD (Analytical Spectral Devices) has been used to collect canopy reflectance data. The FieldSpec4 Hi-Res spectroradiometer has a spectral range of 350 nm to 2500 nm with a field view of 25 degrees. The measurements have been taken by holding the spectroradiometer at a height of 20-30 centimeters above the canopy (depends on calibration process) with the viewing angle of 25 degrees. From each measurement location, 10-15 canopy reflectance data have been collected
- Frequency: depends on sun conditions
APAR
- Crop Type(s): Forest
- Collection Protocol:
AccuPAR LP-80 instrument by Decagon Devices
- Frequency: twice/three times a month
Soil Moisture
- Crop Type(s): Forest
- Collection Protocol:
TRIME-PICO64 sensor with internal TDR-electronics by IMKO
- Frequency: twice/three times a month
Radiance temperature
