Overview
The study site is situated in Siyana Tehsil of Bulandsahar district of Uttar Pradesh, and partly in Hapur District. The site has wide variety of cropping pattern. The district has more than 100% cropping intensity. The site has been chosen basically for the study of spectral signatures to identify the crop types and to precisely estimate the acreage in all-weather condition. The major emphasis will be improving horticultural crop classification and horticultural production estimation. This would be done with the help of in-situ observations as well as data acquired from satellite / UAV remote sensing techniques. Maps would be generated to understand the crop water stress, changing situation of soil nutrition and pH, growth of plant biomass and leaf condition during weather extremes. The study will promote precision agriculture by boosting better management of required micro-nutrients via applying adequate fertilizers and will also promote the optimal use of water for irrigation.
