Overview
This site in the Central India is a Soybean growing area. Soybean is a major oilseed crop and it is mostly grown in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra states. However, due to unavailability of cloud-free optical satellite data during kharif (Rainy) season, the soybean crop assessment has been difficult. Hence, the main goal of the site is to assess Soybean crop using SAR data

- In situ data of crop types will be collected for approximately 100 crop fields uniformly distributed over selected JECAM site for accurate estimate of crop area.
- Other ancillary information i.e. date of sowing, irrigation, soil condition, field photographs, approx. size of the field will be collected over 50 crop fields among aforementioned 100 crop fields.
